Warranty terms

We provide a guarantee period of two years to all bicycles distributed by our company.

• FREE REPAIR – to bicycles with defects due to the manufacturer’s fault (factory defect).
• "ZZK” guarantees the performance of guarantee repairs within three days, if there are no disputes (for example, the manufacturer has not yet provided their conclusion as to the cause of the fault).
• You can perform guarantee repair works and any necessary repair works in all stores of “ZZK”, regardless of which store you purchased the bicycle from.
• When you hand in the bicycle for repair, please make sure it has been cleaned from mud and sand (except for the ZZK Centre at 47 Dzelzavas Street where you can wash the bicycle for an extra charge before repair works).

Discounts to “ZZK” clients.

When purchasing the second (and every next) bicycle and submitting the previous purchase guarantee book (in your name), you will get a 10% discount.

Purchasing at one time:

• 2 bicycles – 5%
• 3 bicycles – 10%
• 4 bicycles – 15%
• 5 bicycles – 20%

Attention!

These discounts do not apply during the discount campaign period – regardless of how many bicycles you purchase.

• In the winter period from 1 October to 1 February, discount on repair works - 20%
• In the winter period from 1 October to 1 March, discount on spare parts and accessories – 20%
• Free maintenance is performed during the winter period (from october 1 to february 1) by presenting the bicycle warranty booklet: one maintenance during the entire warranty period.

The customer is entitled to lodge a claim about incompliance of the product or service to the provisions of the agreement within two years from the day of product purchase or service receipt. The day of the product purchase is the day when the seller has handed over and the customer has received the respective product.

Guarantee does not cover:

• Losses and/or damage occurring due to the inadequate use of the object of guarantee and not adhering with the operating rules determined by the manufacturer;
• Losses and/or damage occurring to the object of guarantee due to the course of standard operation – aesthetic deficiencies – scratches to painted, polished or enamelled surfaces, wear and tear, abrasion, corrosion, oxidation, loss of pressure and/or elasticity, ageing or decline of efficiency;
• Losses and/or damage directly or indirectly occurring due to negligence of the user:
  • a. Inappropriate use, incorrect, faulty, superficial operation,
  • b. Inappropriate, insufficient, faulty, incorrect, superficial maintenance and/or repairs.
• Losses and/or damage occurring upon the installation and use of unsuitable, worn-out, damaged parts, components, accessories/products of the object of guarantee, as well as making any modifications, additions, improvements that are not accepted by the manufacturer and/or seller and that cause losses and/or damage;
• Losses and/or damage caused to the object of guarantee when it was used after the occurrence of any damage;
• Losses and/or damage created during the period when the object of guarantee was tested or verified or used for a purpose other than intended;
• Losses and/or damage caused by overload of the weight (mass), pressure, tension, torsion, bending of the object of guarantee;
• Losses and/or damage caused to the object of guarantee by falling, overturning, making contact with an obstacle, having a road traffic accident;
• Losses and/or damage that did not occur during the period of operation of the guarantee;
• Losses and/or damage caused by disappearing parts and/or components;
• Losses and/or damage with unclear cause and time of occurrence.

Guarantee is terminated:

• If operating provisions are not observed;
• If persons or companies that were not authorised by the manufacturer (distributor) have performed the repair works;
• If the product is mechanically damaged;
• If the bicycle is used for professional purposes (for example, – messenger services, professional competitions);
• If the document attesting the purchase is lost.

ATTENTION!

In the case that we establish a factory defect in any of the parts/hub of bicycle, “ZZK” only performs exchange of the damaged part.

Operating rules.

Before use, please make sure:

• the tyres of the bicycle have the correct air pressure (usually indicated on the rim of the tyre);
• the brakes of the bicycle are strong enough for you to brake rapidly in case of necessity;
• there isn’t excessive clearance in the handlebar mechanisms and the wheel.

Selection of the height of seat:

• a) Please sit on the seat of the bicycle without shoes
• b) When you put your heel on the pedal, the leg has to be straight.

For children and teenagers up to 16 years old, parents evaluate the technical condition of the bicycle – please make sure that the bicycle is safe for riding. It is the responsibility of parents to forbid the child from riding a bicycle that is not suitable for his/her age. Use of a bicycle that is not suitable for one’s age and body can cause injuries.

ATTENTION!

• When adjusting the height of the seat or handlebars, you cannot exceed the limiting mark that is indicated on the handle-bars with the help of uninterrupted lines. By exceeding this mark, you may cause irreversible consequences to both you and your bicycle.
• Braking – while braking use the front and rear brakes simultaneously. This will allow braking to be more efficient and safer as you will not mix up the brakes and experience an unnecessary fall.
• Oiling – please oil the chain at least once a week or more frequently (it depends on your riding intensity, the environment and weather conditions). You cannot ride with a “dry” chain as it will cause extra pressure on the links, as well as excess noise and squeaking. Before oiling the chain clean it carefully and apply a very small amount of oil. Excess oil will allow sand and dirt to stick to the chain and it could promote faster damage of the cog and chain.
• Chain – after every 500 km, please test the wear and tear of the chain as it can damage both the front and rear cog. When you tighten the chain for a bicycle with one gear (road bicycle, children’s bicycle), please do not over tighten it as in this case a noise will occur when riding and you will have to apply additional work when pedalling.

Switch over the gears for bicycles with external gears (several rear and front cogs, selection of gear from 15 up to 27) ONLY AND SOLELY when you are pedalling and apply as little pressure as possible when switching gears. You CANNOT switch gears for this bicycle when in resting position (when the bicycle is standing).

Please switch gears for bicycles with internal gears in the wheel hub ONLY AND SOLELY when you are not pedalling – it is opposite to bicycles with external gears!

Store the bicycle in a dry place, carefully cleaning and oiling in advance! Do not store the bicycle in damp premises!!!

DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING GEAR COMBINATIONS!

Customer/user has to read and fulfil the operating provisions of the purchased product. Customer/user is not allowed to dismantle or repair the bicycle during the guarantee period. You are not allowed to use the bicycle for professional purposes without the written consent of the seller stated in the documents of the bicycle.

Customer/user can perform regulating or maintenance works for the bicycle that are not connected with dismantling, disassembling of hubs/details, repairing of the bicycle, interfering in the operation of the bicycle, performing works to simplify or improve the bicycle’s operation. Please observe the requirements indicated in the operating provisions while performing regulating works regarding the seat, height of the handlebars, brakes, as well as controlling the fixation and fastening of bicycle tyres, handlebars, seat and other screws.

If you establish disturbances in the operation of parts/hub, clearance in the parts/hub, as well as damage that hinders or makes standard operation of the bicycle impossible, as well as causes a threat to the safety of the bicycle user, and the prevention of this requires special knowledge, skills and qualification, please approach your seller or representative of the seller entitled to perform the guarantee repair works.
